Abstract:
The blood cells of 2-year-old Amur sturgeon Acipenser schrencki Brandt were examined by blood cell count method, light microscopy and electron microscopy.Content of erythrocytes was 47.75@ 14cell/ mm3 in peripheral blood of the fish and that of leukocytes was 2.9 @104 cell/ mm3.Erythrocytes and four main types of leucocytes, thrombocyte, lymphocyte, granulocytes(including neutrophil and eosinophil)and monocyte, were identified in peripheral blood.Except normal erythrocyte, reticulocyte and the nuclear division of erythrocyte were observed.Lymphocyte is the most numerous group in leukocytes, and number of neutrophil with lobated nuclei is larger than that of the other fish. Structure of erythrocyte, lymphocyte, monocyte, granulocyte and thrombocyte of the fish were observed. The results indicated that there are a few organells in the cytoplasm of the erythrocyte. The lymphocyte is typical and there are lots of mitochondria in cytoplasm of the monocyte. There are few cytoplasm and organells in thrombocyte with fusiform and round shape. The granules of granulocyte are different in electronic density.
