Abstract:
Dashu Nie is the pioneer of the researches on protozoa, fish diseases, and fishery sciences including rice-fish coculture system in China. In commemoration of the 110th anniversary of the birth of Prof. Dashu Nie, a retrospective on 4 of his distinguished research articles on dinoflagellata, intestinal protozoa of the guinea-pig, bacterial pathogen of grass carp gill disease and rice-fish coculture system has been summarized. It was the existence of many achievements such as these characteristic works that made Prof. Nie to be appreciated and recognized as a conscientious scientist dedicated to his society amidst tremendous social turbulence during his career.
