Abstract: In this study, the progress of the community fishery was screened and the community fishery experiment was conducted in the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR). The results indicated the community fishery in the TGR owned a higher ecological benefits, economic benefits and social benefits. The community fishery is an important method to conserve the fishery resource and ensure the sustainable development of ecological fishery in the TGR. At the same time, the difficulty and problems in the community fishery were verified. The establishing of fishery community, access system, management system, and so on, encountered some problems. The driving force from government and the financial support from different source should be very important to the development of community fisheries, while the strict management system was a vital factor to ensure the good working environment for the community fishery.
